Description
The atlas (C1) is the first cervical vertebra and the only link between the skull and the spinal column. Unlike the other vertebrae, it has no body – instead, it forms a ring-shaped structure that bears the weight of the entire skull and allows the head to nod forward and backward. This 3D printed model shows the key anatomical landmarks – the anterior and posterior arches, the lateral masses and the facet for the dens of the axis – making it useful for studying the craniovertebral junction, neurosurgery and physiotherapy. Made from PLA, the model is durable enough for regular use in teaching.
